NOTICE OF Annual General Meeting

NOTICE is hereby given that the Ninety Seventh Annual General Meeting of the Manly Life Saving Club will be held on Sunday 15 June, 2008 commencing at 10:00am.  The meeting will be held in the main hall of the Manly Surf Pavilion, South Steyne.

AGENDA 

1. Nominations for Life Membership as presented to 21 April 2008 Management Committee meeting

 Alan Seeney      Nominated Michael Carroll     Seconded Albert Adams OAM

 Ray Moran          Nominated Albert Adams OAM     Seconded Ray Petersen

All nominees received more than the 80% majority required for their nomination to be forwarded to the 2008 Annual General Meeting.

2. Confirmation of Minutes of the 96th Annual General Meeting

3. Adoption of the 97th Annual Report and Financial Statement.

4. Consideration of proposed changes to the Constitution and Rules if any

5. Election of Office Bearers for the season 2008 - 2009

6. Special Resolution:  That affiliation be sought for the 2008/2009 season with Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches Incorporated.  Further, that the articles, constitution, by-laws, regulations and resolutions, together with the awards and equipment of Surf Life Saving Australia be accepted.

7. General Business as may occur.

8. Close meeting.

 

VOTING ENTITLEMENTS    Annual General Meeting,  General and Special Meetings

a) The following members SHALL be entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting, General and Special Meetings of the Club, provided they are present at the meeting:

(i) Officers of the Club with the exception of Patrons and Vice Patrons provided they are financial members of the Club at the time of the vote:

(ii) Life Member

(iii) Long Service Members provided they are financial members of the Club at the time of the vote.

(v) Cadet Active Members (Under 16 years) who have been members of the Club for more than three (3) months and who have gained the appropriate Association award and are deemed proficient by the Association(iv) Active (15-18yrs and 18yrs and over) and Active Reserve Members provided they are financial members of the  Club at the time of the vote and are deemed proficient by the Association.

b) The following members SHALL NOT be entitled to vote:

(i) Unfinancial members, regardless of Membership classification.

(ii) ASSOCIATE members unless currently holding Office within the Club Management Committee.

 (iii) JUNIOR ACTIVITIES (Nipper) Members unless currently holding Office within the Club Management Committee.

 (iv) CADET Members of LESS THAN three (3) months membership
