2008 Selection Policy

1. Selection committee
The club constitution has been followed and the following members will form this year’s selection committee:
Warren Jones (Chairman)
Kerry Doyle
Don Gain
Trent Herring (withdrew due to work commitments)
Steve Coulter
Mark Williams

2.  Selection criteria
Selection carnivals for State and Nationals will be:

Queenscliff – 5 January 2008
Freshwater – 26 January 2008
Manly – 27 January 2008
Branch – Newport 16 February 2008
Also|
2007 Championship carnivals (Branch, State, Nationals) taken into consideration.
Performance at other carnivals in current season taken into consideration
Training attendance and performance taken into consideration
National teams could change after State.

3.  Communication
State teams will be published on Wednesday 19 February 2008 and appeals must be received by 5pm Monday 24 February.

National teams will be published on Wednesday 19 March 2008 and appeals must be received by 5pm Monday 23 March.

Under 18 competitors must have completed parental consent/  Code of Conduct agreement signed by competitor and parent/guardian.                     

4.  Appeals process
Appeals are welcome within five (5) days of selections being published and in writing to the MLSC Executive. The Executive will consider the appeal with input from coach and section head/Competition Manager and Chairman of Selectors.
