Proficiency Dates

All members wishing to patrol or compete during the 2008/09 season, must have their Bronze Medallion Proficiency completed prior to December 31 2008.

NEW METHOD FOR BRONZE PROFICIENCIES 2008/09
BRONZE PROFICIENCIES this season will be done AFTER your MORNING PATROL by the Chief Instructor and the Instructors/Assessors allocated to your patrol.

Each Patrol will have a least two opportunities prior to Christmas to get these done. If you are not rostered onto the particular patrol but have participated as a volunteer that morning, you may also do your proficiency with the group if you prefer.

During the month of DECEMBER, if you wish to participate in a proficiency that is not your rostered Patrol, you will need to first check with the Chief Instructor to see if there is a place available for you.  We need to be mindful of unfairly overloading patrol groups

For those people who are Long Service, or on Roving Patrol, separate dates will be set for you or alternatively if you wish, you may participate in the Patrol proficiencies.

The proficiency test for the Bronze Medallion for the 2008/09 season will be:

  • Signals-10 correct
  • Run Swim Run (timed)
  • Resuscitation (Live patient assessment and CPR, including oxygen)
  • Rescue Board
  • Rescue Tube
  • Spinal Board
